Loading...Chairman of the “religious” committee of the State Duma Sergei Gavrilov, together with Bishop Stefan (Synodal Department for Cooperation with the Supreme Council) and Mufti Talgat Tajuddin, visited The Military Spiritual and Educational Center of the Ministry of Defense, located exactly opposite the Main Church of the Armed Forces.
From September 1, training courses will be held here for assistants to commanders of formations and military units for working with religious servicemen and deputy commanders for military-political work (that is, political officers and clergy will study together). The names of the items are impressive: “Religious Factor and Security of Russia”, “Military Culture”, “Spiritual Foundations of Mercy”, etc.
Judging by the presence of the Supreme Mufti, the center will train not only military priests, but also imams.
In turn, Sergei Gavrilov made a proposal to raise the salary of military clergy to 60 000 rubles ($800) a month.
